More Interviews and a few music releases
Dear all;
Slight change of pace for me here with latest updates on ‘Setting Sun’ my personal webzine…
Despite the fact I have just put on-line an interview by the beautiful Amy Marie Keller – a cross between Tori Amos, Suzanne Vega and Enya in the interviews section http://www.geocities.com/aen1mpo) and also am working on now on the interview with ‘Monster Movie’ who reminded me of a cross between My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive merged with about any other two or three droney guitar bands you can hope to mention, I have been busy getting some of my own back catalogue of music uploaded and posted.
Two are published on the internet record label Hallo Excentrico ‘http://hallo-excentrico.com/’
These being in question the second Distance – simply called ‘Distance II’ which contains pretty well much akin to the first Distance album – namely long droney pieces of ambience which have been drawing comparisons to Third Eye Foundation, Amp and Flying Saucer Attack and even Godspeed You Black Emperor

All I would ask people if anybody downloads just to let me know what they think…
Secondly just for a bit of a jam, I have also done a mix under my own name for once ‘Andy N’ where I have mixed together 49 tracks into one long 38 minute mix..
This includes snippets of several acts included on interviews with Setting Sun previously – July Skies, Bela Emerson, Hot Roddy / Same Actor, Liz (from the excellent experimental Brazillian label KKFS), Travel By Sea and Amy Marie Keller – it also includes snippets of future bands / acts Setting Sun will hopefully be interviewing including If Thousands, August Stars, Mara’s Torment, Vole etc as well as choice classic cuts from Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto, Gilberto Gil, Godspeed You Black Emperir, Brian Eno, Holger Czukay etc…

I have just attempted to upload the debut full length album by ‘Seven Ages’ called ‘Beginning to understand at last’ on Archive at Hicc Records
Hopefully by now (I need to check this later) – it should be uploaded to:

Next on the agenda will include the up-loading of a Distance EP called ‘The WLNT Sessions’ which were tracks recorded specially very recently for a project called ‘The World’s Longest Noise Track’ which would have involved some clever guy mixing together hours and hours and hours of noise or dark ambience to create some track which would have broke the world record for that kind of thing… Sadly this hasn’t happened now as I believe the project has been cancelled, but Distance has about 32 minutes of drones knocking around, so instead of wasting it I am going to create an EP from them before spending the rest of the year for Distance using them as a starting point to create the third proper album ‘Black’ for release at some point next year.
Black will be a homage to the Indian film of the same night of a girl who lives in blackness and cannot hear or see…. The music will reflect the sounds in her head….
Besides that I am also thinking about releasing to the general public the third DIH EP’ Forever’ which both me and Keith Hicc regard as a land mark for the sound of DIH as when it was recorded back in 2001 and 2002, it showed us taking DIH to different levels altogether.
I am also currently getting entries in also for the M.A.N. remix contest for our song ‘Narnia’ – I did originally mention about closing this competition for release of a EP or album for the end of June / Start of July… Owning to time restricts on my side, it is now going to be to be Mid to End of July (Probably the end of July to be honest) but anybody interested – please contact me on aen1mpo@yahoo.co.uk and I will e-mail over to you – a zipped over pack…
Cheers
AEN
